He's stinky

posted by Kendel:

sorry, yeah, we've been MIA.  That's what having a newborn will do!  But I had to write this conversation out before I forgot it because it was so funny.  Let me back up one sec here first.  Erin started preschool yesterday (EEK) and had a great day.  The only thing that needs improvement so far is the fact that she talked the entire 2 hour nap period.  This does NOT surprise me because she really does talk ALL the time.  In fact, as I sit here typing this, I have this little bird voice next to me "mommy...mommy...MOMMY!!!  Why do we have chins?" (catch my drift?)

OK, so a few minutes ago we're sitting here and this is how it went down:
Me: "Erin, do you like your teacher Jess"
Erin: "yeah, but the other one is stinky"
Me (scratching my head): "What do you mean the other one is stinky?  Which other one"
Erin: "Dat other man teacher, he's stinky"
Me: "What do you mean he is stinky?  You don't like him" (thinking maybe stinky was her code word for not liking him)
Erin: "He's just stinky - his air, his air is stinky"

Taylor joins in....
Taylor: "Oh she means his breathe, he must have stinky breathe"
Erin: "Yeah, his breathe is stinky"
Taylor: "Yeah, just like Daddy.  Sometimes Daddy has really stinky breathe in the morning" (she wrinkles her nose and fans the air in front of her face)
Erin: "oh yeah, STIIIIINKY"

I could have let them go on and on, but did the "motherly" thing and interrupted and had a conversation with them about how we don't ever say that out loud to people...etc, etc, etc....

I dunno, maybe it was the expressions on their faces, but it was funnier in person.  These kids kill me!!!

Other quick funnies this week:
The girls sing "It's a hard knock life" from ANNIE with the words "It's a challuh bread for us"
Whenever I ask Taylor to clean something up, she responds with a sing song "OK Mrs. Hannigan" (aka - the drunk orphanage director also from ANNIE).  greeeeat.....
