2012 Already?

And not just 2012, but late in 2012.  I have no excuse for being lame, well except three small humans living in the house.  Still no excuse.  My plan?  Type something silly even once a day.  Just a little something the kids do that make me smile, or laugh, or cry or any combination of said emotions!

can you see me now?
So the past few weeks Avery has been talking more and more.  She isn't talking as well as Taylor or Erin did at her age, but honestly she has zero reason to.  All she has to do is grunt or cry or scream and point and her sisters run to her aid.  Sometimes just to shut her up (because man can this kid YELL) but mostly because they really just love doing everything for her.  Quite the life if you ask me...queen bee baby Avery!  Anyway, she is just starting that "language explosion" and it's fun.  Currently she says: Mama, Dada, poopoo (yes, I know), loud (her word for the vacuum as well as a loud noise), uh oh, car, truck, cookie, cookoo, bye, hi, and her favorite this week?  NO!  Oh has she learned the power of that work.  I think her next word might be stinker since that what we refer to her as a lot.....because she IS quite the stinker (but in such a good way).  I love our little conversations these days!

The older girls decided they were going to save their money this summer so that Erin could have "Julie", the 70's historical American Girl doll.  Taylor had received "Josefina" for Christmas from Santa and Erin got Bitty baby.  Well, she quicky decided bitty baby was "ok" but she wanted Julie because she had beautiful long hair and Julie and Josefina are BEST FRIENDS!  So anyway, they decide they need to save their money and buy her.  I'm thinking "ok, this will last a day or so", but no, they kept gathering change, doing chores for money, putting it in bag to cash it in, etc....Eventually, we go cash it in after about a month and they had $30.  Great!  Except they think after all that work they MUST have enough.  Well, they weren't even close.  Dave and I made an executive decision to meet them halfway.  Not only were they working so hard to save, Taylor was giving up all her money and they had kept at it all summer!  So, with the help from a few family members (aka - Grandma and Grandad) they got more than their share and we contributed the rest and now Julie and Joepfina are finally living in the same house.  They love these dolls!!

  1. Comment from Daddy...When the older girls were in the process of saving up for Julie, Kendel went away for a well deserved mommies weekend away. I had to help out fixing things around the house in Deep River so the girls and I packed up and moved in for a couple of days. On the way down to the house in the car, I said to Taylor that she and Erin could ask Granddad and Grandma for things to do around the house and possibly earn a few dollars. Her immediate response without a pause and with a straight face was..."or they could just give us money...because they have lots of money". Made me laugh out loud.
